Silica sand is a widely used, cost-effective infill for artificial turf that provides essential structural support, enhances drainage, and adds weight to help prevent movement or wrinkling. It helps keep turf fibers upright, delivers a natural underfoot feel, and can assist in reducing surface heat. Silica sand is typically applied at a rate of 20–30 kg per square meter and is best suited for low-traffic installations. It is generally not recommended for pet areas.
